This Spring a select group of Worcester and Boston/Cambridge high school students will participate in our High School Apprenticeship Challenge. We are dedicated to closing the students’ skills gap so they can progress into successful summer internships in life sciences companies and academic labs.
Students attend our Lab Training Program twice a week after school to work in biodesign teams. These sessions focus on technical knowledge and professional skills. Students also join us in the lab on Saturdays from 9-noon to get hands-on training in the techniques and ways of thinking needed for research.
Our Lab Training Program starts mid-March through mid-May for 8 weeks with an opportunity to interview and possibly advance to a 6-week paid summer internship.

One part Science and Engineering
We don't re-teach everything. Instead, we've spent time listening to what companies and research labs want students to know...and we've partnered with teachers to build on what students are learning in school.

One part Professional DevelopmentSuccess depends on so much more than textbook knowledge and a good pair of hands. We use project-based learning to build strong communication skills, responsibility and resiliency in our students.

One part Benchwork and Research
We leverage the nationally-recognized BioBuilder curriculum and our expert teachers to mentor students in a laboratory setting so they can confidently enter their summer programs.
